George J. Rudovich, 55, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at home. He was born April 16, 1957 in Gary, Indiana to John and Ginger (Stroia) Rudovich. On August 26, 1989 in South Africa, he married Debra Greyling who survives. George is also survived by his mother, Ginger of Valparaiso, his daughters, Jessica who currently attends Valparaiso University and Megan, a student at Indiana University in Bloomington, his sister Tami (Steve) Nicksic of Valparaiso, his brother John (Cindy) Rudovich of Snellville, Georgia, brother-in-law Dewet LeRoux, his nieces and nephews, Peter, Ana, Marija Nicksic, Mac Rudovich, Luke Nicksic, and Payton Rudovich. He was preceded by his father. George is Godfather to his nephew Luke and niece Payton. He is a journeyman bricklayer and ceramic welder and allied craftsman. George worked for Fosbel for 25 years and for the last three years worked for Sun Coke in East Chicago. George was a member of Bricklayer’s and Allied Craftsman Union Local 6 and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 14th at St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso. Rev. Joseph Pawlowski will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Wednesday at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso and 10:00 AM until the time of mass, at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
