Verna (Sue) Grochowski, (nee Hurley). She was born October 6th 1957 to Ollie and Vernon Hurley, Jr. in Knox, Indiana. She passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2013. She is preceded in death by her mom Ollie Pittman; father Vernon Hurley, Jr., sisters Nancy Romei and Tammy Van Dam, great niece Montana Beimler, father-in-law Jerry Grochowski and beloved pet Spunky. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years Jerry Grochowski (Portage), mother-in-law Theresa Grochowski (Portage), sister-in-law Gina (Rick) Plunk (Tennessee), brother Vernon Hurley (Portage), brother-in-law Chris Romei (Alabama), brother Stephen (Diane) Hurley (Lansing), brother Eddie (Angie) Pittman, Jr. Chesterton, sister Sandra (Kenny) Beimler (Plymouth), sister Patricia (Glenn) Monday (Texas) and her beloved pets Daisy and Lexus and dog nephew Moe. Numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a 1975 Valparaiso High School graduate. She lived all over the United States and enjoyed meeting and talking to people. She also had a quirky sense of humor that could make you laugh at the saddest moment. She was an avid pet lover and loved feeding the birds and watching them out her windows, she also loved garding and working in the yard. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and knew her. A family gathering will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to the Porter County Animal Shelter in Valparaiso.
