Arnold (A.C.) Garrett, 83, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017. He was born January 14, 1934 in Johnston City, Illinois the son of William A. and Vera A. (Strunk) Garrett. Arnold worked in grinding and then shipping at Urschel Laboratories. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and working around the house. On February 21, 1954 in Johnston City, Illinois, he married Linda Norman, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving are his son, Charles “Todd” (Dana) Garrett of Lafayette, daughter Donna (Ross) White of Michigan City, 3 grandchildren, Kara (Josh) Earhart, Jacob Garrett and Shelbey White, 2 great grandchildren, Lyra and Corin Earhart and his sister Billie Haynes of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Bob, Pete and Jack Wells, Bill Garrett and a sister Wyona Horrall. Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2017, 10 AM to 12:00 PM, with Funeral Services at 12:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso, Pastor Kevin Earhart officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
