George Ross Green, 86 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Born March 29, 1930 in Valparaiso, the son of George M. and Lura (Taylor) Green, Ross graduated from Valparaiso High School and was a US Airforce veteran.  He worked as a tool and die maker and was a Life member of the American Legion Post 94.  His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, bowling, and being a jokester.  On October 18, 1952 he married Juanita Trulock, who preceded him in death September 15, 1993. Surviving are his daughters, Amelia “Amy” Green, Rebecca “Becky” (Vincent) Kirrin and Brenda (Robert) Darrol , a sister Wilma Luther, and brother-in-law, Raymond Jankowski, all of Valparaiso. Also surviving are his grandchildren David Darrol, Andrew (Kristina) Darrol, Matthew (Alyssa) Darrol, Angela Darrol, Erin (Joe Utterback) Green, Jeffrey (Kristen) Green, Melissa (Daniel) Miller, and great-grandchildren Leah and Alex Green, Maija Darrol, Lucas and Logan Darrol, Georgia Green Utterback, and Bryan Miller. Ross shared a deep love and friendship with Muriel Matsey. He was also preceded in death by his son George, infant daughter Kathlene, and five siblings. Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016, 3-7 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating. Burial will be in Luther Cemetery in Washington Twp.   Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice Center of Valparaiso or Chasing Dreams, Inc., of Merrillville.
