George Sosnowski, Jr. 72 of Valparaiso passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home, Monday, April 17, 2017. He was born July 18, 1944 in Gary, the son of George W. and Angeline (Bogdanowicz) Sosnowski, Sr. George was a driver and mechanic for the State Highway Department for 12 ½ years. He was also a mechanic for Ross Bradley in Michigan and worked at Bulk Transport in Michigan City. George was a member of St. Teresa of Avilla Catholic Church in Valparaiso. He is survived by his brother Joseph (Georgia) Sosnowski of Porter, nieces and nephews, John Joanna, Jennifer, Mary, Vincent, Veronica, Kathleen, Angela, Jim, Sara, Elizabeth and Jeannette and 10 grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2017, 4-8 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Rev. Richard Kozak officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, Indiana.
