Janet E. Gant, 71 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. She was born October 11, 1945 in Valparaiso, the daughter of John and Lydia (Pfledderer) Horak. Janet was a machinist at McGill’s for 30 years and worked at Porter County PACT for 10 years. She is survived by her son Steven (Margaret) Gant of Mishawaka, daughter Kellie (Andrew) Bittorf of Valparaiso, grandson, David Bittorf, twin sister, Joan (Kenneth) Corneil, of Valparaiso, sisters, Carol Cole of Valparaiso and Diane Shell of Seymour, IN. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Janet loved spending time with family and enjoyed her grandson’s football games, track and wrestling events. Visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2017, 10 AM – 12 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Erica Gibson-Even officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
