Leon R. Church Jr., 90, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.  He was born on May 7, 1926 in Valparaiso, to Leon R and Helen (Edwards) Church, who both preceded him in death.  Leon retired from the Valparaiso Fire Department where he worked as a fireman for 29 years.  He was a member of The First Christian Church of Valparaiso and was a member of the masonic lodge for many years.

He is survived by his son Raymond (Karen) Church of Valparaiso, and his brother Royal Church Sr. of North Carolina.  Leon was also survived by 4 grandchildren. 

A private family service will take place at Graceland Cemetery.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either the V.N.A. Hospice or the First Christian Church in Valparaiso.
