Mabel Leanna Stanley, 92 of Boone Grove, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016. She was born March 31, 1924 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Frank J. and Mabel G. (Bull) Brown. Mabel was a homemaker, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her children, Ruth (James) Cavanaugh of Valparaiso, John D. (Darlene) Stanley of Kouts, James B. (Carol) Stanley of New Mexico, Marie (Bob) Wiltfang of Hebron, Mark L. (Rachel) Stanley of Boone Grove and Lois J. Stanley of Valparaiso, her 11 grandchildren David Cavanaugh, Richelle Lehman, Anthony Cavanaugh, Vincent Cavanaugh, Glen Stanley, Debra Gunn, Sheila Tanner, Elizabeth Stanley, Paul Stanley, Matthew Wiltfang, and Sarah Hough, 15 great grandchildren Aaron and Kayla Hellman, Katherine and Kristina Cavanaugh, Dane and Riley Stanley, Corrine, Sarah, and Jack Gunn, Corey White, Alyssa Lehman, Paige and Blake Cavanaugh, Evan and Ashley Cavanaugh, four great great grandchildren Adrian Lain, Abella Cavanaugh, Ashton Cavanaugh, and Anita Rastovic. She was preceded in death by her husband David Stanley in July of 2009, her parents Frank and Mabel Brown, 2 sisters Helen Robinson and Alma Brown and a brother John Brown. She enjoyed flying and her pet Llamas. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 3-7 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. in Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 12th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 Washington Street, Rev. Dr. Timothy A. Leitzke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial contributions can be made t othe charity of donor’s choice.
