Mary Frances (Bloeman) Babcock

Mary Frances Babcock, 95, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018.  She was born April 1, 1922 in Valparaiso to Charles and Lydia (Hamacher) Bloeman. On April 25, 1943, she married Carl Babcock who passed away January 30, 1997.  Mary Frances is survived by her daughter Donna Jean Grether of Kewanna, granddaughter Kim Grether, and great grandson James Upchurch.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Mae Huffman, and her brother Frank. Mary Frances was a member of First Christian Church D.O.C., the Christian women's Fellowship, the Rachel Circle and was a 1941 V.H.S. graduate. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13th at the First Christian Church D.O.C., 1507 Glendale Blvd. in Valparaiso.  Pastors Jim Mitchell and Kathy Light will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM on Tuesday until the time of services at the church. Committal services will be take place at the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel on Wednesday, February 14th at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church D.O.C. Bartholomew Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
