Mildred J. Selby, 81, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017.  She was born October 12, 1935 in Medaryville, Indiana to Floyd and Ruby (Fox) Hibbs. On October 17, 1953 in Wheatfield she married James P. Selby who passed away June 27, 1995.  Mildred is survived by her children Bruce (Denise) Selby of Alabama, Rick (Cindy) Selby of Valparaiso, James (Lisa) Selby of Hobart, Michael (Barb) Selby of Colorado, Paula (James) Sweat of Valparaiso, and Kari (Jeremy) Smith of LaPorte; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Two sisters, Charlotte Hale of Hebron and Wilma Coffman of South Bend also survive her.  In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her son Donald Selby, her parents and two sisters Velma Bays and Mary Zeiber.   She enjoyed many activities including Bingo, gambling and bowling.  A graveside service for Mildred will be at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 24th at Graceland Cemetery (Garden of Prayer).   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Bartholomew Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
