Raymond William Crafton, Sr. 86, also known to those who loved him as “Whitey”, “Mr. Bill” or “Burger King Bill”, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was born March 4, 1931 in Johnston City, IL., the son of Raymond and Ruth (Jacobs) Crafton. Raymond was a US Navy Veteran and served as a Navy Medic during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1998 from Dover Chemical (formerly Kiel Chemical) in Hammond. Surviving are his children, Debra Crafton of Hobart, Scott (Christine) Crafton of Westville, Roger (Ann) Crafton of Valparaiso, and Jeffrey (Janis) Crafton of Portage, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a brother Jack Crafton of Moweaqua, IL. He was preceded in death, by his sons, Raymond Crafton, Jr. and Mark Crafton, his parents and 2 sisters, Helen Dunn and Pat Kumorek. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 10 AM to 12PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, at Bartholomew Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Beatty officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Johnston City, IL. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to V.N. A. Hospice Center, 2401 Valley Dr. Valparaiso, IN. 46383
