Ronald Eugene Podell

Ronald Eugene Podell, 72 of Wanatah, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at home.  He was born March 16, 1946 in Valparaiso to Roger Raymond and Mary Catherine (Shireman) Podell.   Surviving are his wife Ellen (Saylor) Podell, his children Ronald Podell, Jr. of Laramie, Wyoming , Sean Podell of Valparaiso, two sisters Carol Uhlman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Rita Matanich of Louisville, Kentucky, and his half brother Ted Bolles of Lore City, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie and his parents. Ron was retired from McGill Manufacturing in Valparaiso after almost 44 years of service there. He was a member of the American Legion Post #94 S.A.L. in Valparaiso, the Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 500 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, both in Valparaiso also.  Visitation for Ron will be on Tuesday, April 10th from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. in Valparaiso.  Place of rest will be at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
