Shirley F. Tauck, 79 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago with her family by her side. She was born August 14, 1937 in Haleyville, Alabama the daughter of Jesse “J.O.” and Ethel (Goddard) McCombs. On September 15, 1960 in Schererville, she married Henning W. Tauck, who preceded her in death. Together they were the proud owners of the Old Style Inn for 35 years. Surviving are her children, Debra Williams, Cathy (Johnnie) Morgan, Sr., and Cheryl (Mark) Gebhardt-Garbison , all of Valparaiso, four grandchildren, Robert (Christina) Williams, Amanda (Jason) Pressel of Valparaiso, Johnnie (Kelly) Morgan, Jr. of Utah and Rachel Gebhardt of Valparaiso, four great-grandchildren, Christian, Cameron and Jason Pressel of Valparaiso and Kambria Morgan of Utah, two great-great grandchildren, Aubree Pressel and Gavin Pressel of Valparaiso, a sister Doris (James) Scaminaci of Missouri and brothers Roger McCombs of LaPorte and Mike (Marianne) McCombs of Hobart. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister Verlie McCombs. Shirley enjoyed shopping, cooking, bowling, spending time with her family, and reading books and the Bible. She also enjoyed jewelry, and most recently worked at Martin Binder Jeweler for nearly 20 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 3-7 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso
