Betty Sausman, 89 of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Portage Indiana, passed away, Friday, December 22, 2017. She was born March 26, 1928 in Knox, Indiana the daughter of Zenal Edward and Alice Gertrude (Zeller) Artist.

Betty was a Bank Teller Supervisor at the Chesterton State Bank in Indiana and Bank of America in Florida.  Betty was a member of the Hobart Chapter of the O.E. S. #314, where she was Charter Member for 60 plus years.  On November 23, 1947, she married James R. Sausman, who preceded her in death December 13, 2010.  Surviving are her sons: Paul Sausman of Cary, North Carolina, Kenneth Sausman of Longville, Minnesota, and James W. Sausman of Valparaiso, Indiana, and daughter Janet Verrone of  Decatur, Indiana, numerous  grand and great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
