Brenda Joyce Irwin, 69 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She was born January 8, 1948 in Gadsden, Alabama, the daughter of Joseph and Leatha Eule Elizabeth (Mitchell) Higdon. Brenda was a Police Dispatcher for the Hobart Police Department and a homemaker. In June of 1973 she married Frank E. Irwin who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving are her children, David Irwin of Valparaiso, Eleanore (Bruce) Jahr of Chesterton, Leatha (Alvin) Smith and Elizabeth (Eric) Holt all of Kingsford Heights, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. There will be a Memorial Service held Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Eagles Lodge #2517, 805 Elm Street, Valparaiso, Indiana.
