David R. Branch, 29, of Valparaiso, passed away on January 12, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1988 in Valparaiso, to Richard and Judy (Herbert) Branch. David was a software engineer for Brandmuscle in downtown Chicago. David was a 2007 graduate of Valparaiso High School, following graduation he attended Purdue University where he graduated in 2013 with high honors. While attending VHS David was a member of the swim team, he was also a lifeguard at the Valparaiso YMCA. While in college he did an internship with NIPSCO. He is a member of the Purdue Alumni Association. David is survived by his parents, brother Christopher Branch of Valparaiso, grandparents James and Evelyn Branch, aunts Marrianne (Branch) Hornbeck, Joanne (Michael) Hart, Clare (English) Herbert, Betty (Michael) McCanna, Margaret (Herbert) Banas, Therese (Michael) Curtis and uncles, Steven (Becky) Branch, Frank (Sue) Herbert, Michael Herbert, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Clare Herbert and six aunts and uncles. David had many friends and was very well liked throughout the community. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso. Services will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.
