Doris H. (Carter) Resteau

Doris H. Resteau, 92 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was born December 17, 1925 in Michigan City, the daughter of Herman C. and Helen T. (Sack) Carter, Sr. Doris was a switchboard operator for General Telephone Company, worked at Indiana General, Graceland Cemetery. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Grace New Testament Church. On September 6, 1947 in Michigan City, she married Robert F. Resteau, who preceded her in death, July 16, 2002. Surviving are her children, Bruce (Emma) Resteau of Chesterton, Roberta (Noah) Hamilton of Kouts and Linda (Robert) Camp of Valparaiso 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 3 sisters Kathryn Marciniak, Ruth Ann Leeds and Nancy Willis. She was also preceded in death, by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 , 10 AM to 12PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Steve Reuter officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to the Porter County Animal Shelter.
