Earline Racich, 97 of Westville, passed away peacefully at home joining the Lord in heaven, Sunday, October 22, 2017. She was born January 16, 1920 in Hunter, Arkansas, the daughter of Layton Wesley Wilson and Oraleona (Harrell) Pfiester. Earline was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Valparaiso. On March 8, 1948 she married Simon Racich, who preceded her in death, April 9, 2001. Surviving are her daughters, Ann (Harry) Batagianis of Westville, Paula (Hershal) Byrd of Fredericksburg, Texas, Kathy (Bill) Spletzer of Villages of Florida, her son Greg (Linda) Racich of Portage, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Wilson and sister Juanita Wilson Earl. Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2017, 9-10 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1511 LaPorte Ave. Valparaiso. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, at 10:00 AM at the church. Fr. Chris Stanish will celebrate the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in memory of Earline.
