George Mansch Obituary

George Mansch, 80 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born August 13, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Betty (Babinec) Mansch. George was a Union Pacific Railroad Engineer. He enjoyed model railroading, boating, shooting, camping, remote control drones and cars and was “still a boy at heart”. On May 24, 1958, he married Dorothy Treleaven, who preceded him in death in 2003. On August 2, 2008, in Valparaiso, he married Marcia McGuirl, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving are his children, David (Anne) Tennant, John Mansch and Judy (Mitchell) Fredel, step-children, Mark McGuirl, Lisa Kirkpatrick, Debra (Gene) Novello, Kerry (Chad) Phifer and Matthew McGuirl, 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister Lillian Zuber and brother Gene (June) Mansch. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 10- 11 AM at Queen of Apostles Chapel at St. Paul Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd. Valparaiso. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Rev. Michael Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center or V.N.A hospice
