Harold S. Maupin, 77 of LaCrosse, passed away at his home on Monday, April 10, 2017. He was born on December 16, 1939 to Harold I. and Marie Sonnenburg Maupin. Harold graduated from LaCrosse High School and attended Purdue University. He worked for the state highway and Dyer Construction. In 1963 he married Janet Loomis of San Pierre. They had 2 sons, Harold L. of LaCrosse and Richard E. (Genni Knight) of Fishers and one grandson, Edward J. of Fishers, IN. Also surviving, sister-in-law Eva Jachim, niece Nancy Jachim and grand-nephews, Cody Jachim, Rudy and Lance Allen. Harold enjoyed bowling, golfing, old cars, and yard work. He was a humble and good conversationalist. His family always came first. Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso, and Friday, from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, Wanatah, and burial at Salem Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Lung Cancer, Salem Cemetery Fund or the Lacrosse Fire Department.
