Irene Wray, 81 of Valparaiso, passed away, Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born March 16, 1936 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Harold and Merna (Thompson) Schultz. Irene retired in 1996, after 41 years at the Department of Agriculture. She was a member of the Crossroads Garden Club and the “Queen of Crafts”. On July 7, 1956 in Wanatah, she married Virgil A. Wray, who preceded her in death on Saturday. They are together again. Surviving is her son Terry (Donna) Wray, two grandchildren, Scott( Steff) Wray and Diana Wray all of Valparaiso, 3 great grandchildren, a sister Linda( Jim Rigg) Howard of Valparaiso, a brother Dale (Mary) Schultz of Valparaiso, her niece Hilary Howard, nephews, Bernard Howard, Andrew (Elizabeth) Schultz, and Aaron (Abby) Schultz and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017, 12:00 -4:00 PM the same time as Virgil’s at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Funeral Services will also be the same time as Virgil’s on Monday at 11:00 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Victory Ubben officiating. Irene and Virgil will be entombed together at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
