Kristen Branson, 31 of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017. She was born October 1, 1986 in Munster, the daughter of Gregory Branson and Cynthia Vanrell Branson. Kristen was a certified hair stylist and a sales associate at Michael’s in Valparaiso. She enjoyed crafting and dancing, loved hiking in the woods and was an extraordinary artist. Surviving are her parents, Cynthia Vanrell Branson and Gregory (Sue) Branson, sisters, Lisa (James Kmetz) Brass of Lowell and Cheryl (Mike Anderson) Brass of Hobart, grandmothers, Shirley R. Branson and Shirley Vanrell, her niece, Hannah and nephews Ethan, Logan and Preston. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, close friend Jeff Marlowe and special friend Zac Susoreny and Earle Grey her “Fur baby”. She was preceded in death by her grandfather James Branson. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to the Porter County Animal Shelter in Kristen’s name.
