Larry Carpenter, 71, of Kouts, passed away on November, 10, 2017, at the V.N.A. Hospice Center. He was born on December 1, 1944 in Harlem Springs, Ohio, to Denzil and Lois (Ray) Carpenter, who both preceded him in death.
On August 12, 2017, in Ohio, he married his wife Judy, who survives.
Larry owned and worked at B&G Barbershop in Valparaiso before retiring. He also served his country in the Air Force. Larry was a member of the Porter Masonic Lodge in Valparaiso and the Valparaiso York Rite Bodies. He also enjoyed spending time fishing and watching Valparaiso University and High School basketball games.
Larry is survived by his son Todd Carpenter of Valparaiso and step-daughter Deborah Nance of Arizona. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jonathan (Michelle) Nance of Ohio, Jesse (Molly) Nance of Arizona, brother Jon Carpenter of Valparaiso, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, November 19th, 2017, at 1:00 PM, at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
