Mildred G. Hodshire, 88 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born May 16, 1928 in Greencastle, Indiana the daughter of Herrick E.H. and L. Blanche (Bryant) Greenleaf. She graduated from Greencastle High School and from DePauw University with degrees in Physical Geography and Education. She received her Master’s Degree from Oberlin College. She taught Elementary Schools in Belleview, Valparaiso and Jackson Twp. On February 16, 1957 in Greencastle, she married John F. Hodshire, who preceded her in death January 26, 2007. Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Deborah Circle, the Rusty Pipes, Inc. and the Concert Band of N.W. Indiana. Surviving are her children, Glenn G. Hodshire of Valparaiso and Judith (John) Hauck of Paxton, IL. and 4 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Dixon, her parents and 4 sisters. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 10 AM at the United Methodist Church, 103 N. Franklin St., Valparaiso, with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM and a luncheon to follow. Bartholomew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
