Paul John Doepping, Jr. 71, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at 9:00 AM. He was born January 31, 1946 in LaPorte, the son of Paul John and Joan (Wilson) Doepping, Sr. Paul was the owner of Doepping Trucking, Inc. retiring June 13, 2015 and he retired from Bethlehem Steel as an electrician after 36 years. He was a member of the United Steelworker of America, Local 6787. On April 7, 1981 he married Barbara Wichmann Hanaway, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is his son, Paul “Charles” Doepping of Plymouth, daughter Tammy Lynn Miller of Indianapolis, 6 grandchildren, Andrew Lee Thomas, Sarah Diane Thomas, Eric Alan Bemish, Brian Paul Bemish, Amber Nicole Doepping and Breanna Kay Doepping, 4 great grandchildren, a brother David (Donna) Doepping of Union Mills, and 2 sisters, Bonnie Greasby of Kansas and Wendy (Clyde) Davis of Fowler, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Judy Frum. Paul grew up on a farm and loved gardening and woodworking. Private Funeral Services will be held, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to Valley Baptist Church, 255 Rigg Rd. Valparaiso, IN 46383.
