Richard F. Davet, 73, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was born September 6, 1944, the son of George Donald and Mary E. (Killeen) Davet.  Richard was in the jewelry business. On July 7, 1978 in Cleveland, he married Lynn Manson, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter Katie (John-Paul) Simkus, his sister Donna (Pierre) Lapeyre of LA, and brothers, George (Natalie) Davet, Edward (Antoinette) Davet, Peter (Susan) Davet and sister-in-law Pam (Larry) Makowski all of OH. Richard was loved by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Paul. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 3-6 PM (CDT) at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM (CDT) at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Ave., Chesterton, IN.
