Robert Charles Arndt, 90, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. He was born April 6, 1927 in Wilders, Indiana the son of George L. and Bertha A. (Doms) Arndt, Sr. Robert was a WWII Army Veteran, he worked on Nickel Plate Railroad 1 ½ years and Continental Diamond (Mica) Factory, 17 years. Robert worked last for Locke Complete Vending Service and Complete Vending Service for 26 years. And 10 years part time. On August 7, 1948 he married Bernice E. Nelson in Valparaiso, she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Sue Arndt, son, Ronald Lee Arndt and daughter-in-law, Nancy (Clark) Arndt. His parents George L. and Bertha A. (Doms) Arndt, Sr., brothers, George L. (Martha) Arndt, Jr. and LeRoy F. (Bettie) Arndt and sisters, Dorothy Ann (Vernon) Anders, and Mildred O’Brien also preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Jeanne (Leonard) Antrim, Sun City Center, FL., Becky (Richard) Dunn Wanatah, Donald L. Arndt, Larry G. Arndt and Terry L. Arndt all of Valparaiso and his brothers Thomas (Ruth) Arndt, Westville and David (Virginia) Arndt, Kouts. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017, 12-4 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 12:00 PM, Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
