Walter C. Matheny, 92 of Camby, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 in Indianapolis. He was born May 27, 1925 in Alleghany, Virginia, the son of Samuel Robert and Mary Elizabeth (MacAllister) Matheny. He was a WWII and Korean War Veteran, serving as an aviation radio man. Walter retired in 1989 after 34 years from Urschel Laboratories in shipping. On August 31, 1963 he married Eleanor Mileski, who preceded him in death March 5, 1999. Surviving is his daughter Ellen M. (Douglas) McDaniel of Indianapolis, a sister Shirley Ann Case of Virginia and a brother Harry Meredith Matheny of Nevada. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2017, 4-7PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso, IN. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Pastor Mike Eddy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to Cancer Research for Esophageal Cancer.
