Willard Chumbler, 94, of Winona Lake, Indiana went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born June 8, 1922 in Kevil, Kentucky, the son of Carl and Lillian (Vasseur) Chumbler. Willard was a WWII Army Veteran and a manager at Marbon Chemical Plant and at US Steel. He was also a member of the Central Baptist Church; On February 14, 1945 in Ebbw Vale Beaufort Wales England he married Betty Childs, who preceded him in death after 68 years of marriage. Surviving is his daughter, Rosemary Courtney of Warsaw, 3 grandchildren, Chris Courtney, Matthew Courtney and John Chumbler, a great grandchild and 2 sisters, Betty (Paul) Colvin of Georgia and Lena (Elston) Thornton of Alabama. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son David Chumbler and 6 siblings. Willard loved gardening, bowling and fishing. Visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2017, 9-9:30 AM with Funeral Services at 9:30 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso, Indiana 46383. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
