Obituary

Ann D. Markis, 92, of Valparaiso, passed away on June 18, 2023 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. She was born on Nov. 7, 1930, in Gary, Indiana, to August and Angelina (Pannozzo) Redigonda. Ann worked at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School for many years before retiring. She loved spending her time grocery shopping and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed walking in her neighborhood and playing board games. She is survived by her 6 children, Phil Markis of Colorado, Marcia (David) Shurr of Valparaiso, Steve Markis of Ohio, Ibraheem (Frebi) Abdullah of Wisconsin, Becky (William) Paul of Michigan, and Bilal Markis of Wisconsin. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her children Cynthia and Fredrick Markis, and siblings Phillip and Marie Redigonda. There will be a private family service.
