Carol Jeanne St. Germain

Carol Jeanne St. Germain, 49, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday August 18, 2020. She was born January 12, 1971 at the McConnell Airforce Base in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Greg St. Germain and Janette Doyen. Carol graduated from Chesterton High School in 1989 and earned her RN from Purdue University. She dedicated nearly 30 years to the nursing profession, most recently at  Portage Hospital (Select Medical). Her passions included SCUBA diving, traveling, ballroom dancing, and rescuing animals in need. Carol was a unique spirit; a driven, hard-working, creative dreamer. Her openness, generosity, sense of humor and vivacious personality will be sorely missed by many friends and loved ones.  Carol is survived by her mother Janette (Arthur) Flynn of Valparaiso, her father Greg (Paula) St. Germain, her partner of 17 years David Mantz of Valparaiso, her stepchildren, Matthew Mantz, Paige Mantz, Rebecca Mantz and David Mantz, step-grandchildren, Nicholas Threaderman, Calvin, Kora, Kiera and Caius Bauer, her sister Jennifer St. Germain, brother Matthew St. Germain, stepbrother Michael Flynn, stepsister Connie Goldsworthy (deceased), nieces Veronica Castillo, Stephanie Matthys, and Alexis Shupe, and nephew Jayden Shupe. Carol was part of a much larger and extended network of family, co-workers, and friends. Although too numerous to list, their love and support of Carol is greatly acknowledged. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, 10 AM – 12 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, Tom Manzke officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to Lakeshore Paws, 4611 Evans Avenue, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
