Dessie Lee Wilson-Barker

Dessie L. Wilson- Barker, 87, of Valparaiso, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. She was born in Ripley County, Missouri  on February 28, 1935 to Daniel and Dolly (Gordon) Allen. She is survived by her children, Bryan Wilson, Wayne (Pam) Wilson, Robert Wilson, Karen (Joe) Betz, and Lori (Tom) Windsor, twin brother Jessie Allen , grandchildren, Bryan, Mary, David, Cara, Joey, Jacob, Kevin, Tom, Luke and Anna, several  great grandchildren.

Dessie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Lyndell Wilson and Hardy Barker, daughter Cindy Powell, siblings, Richard, Walter, Viola, Thelma, Georgia, Mary, Ophelia, Elsie and Arlyn, grandsons Matthew and Paul. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at New Hope Church, 402 South State Road 49, in Malden, Indiana.

Dessie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and worked for Union Township Schools as a cook for many years. She enjoyed baking, gardening and farming.
