Obituary

Edward P. Bushemi, 83 of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born October 3, 1939 in Gary, Indiana the son of Marion J. and Sidonia (Costellano) Bushemi. Edward was a rolling attendant with US Steel for 31 years. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Gary, the National Rifle Association Soar and Local Union 1066. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. On June 28, 1958 he married Ruth Ann Gulledge, who preceded him in death October 23, 1988. Surviving is his daughter Suzanne (Mark) Lauridsen of Lake Placid, Florida, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a sister Evelyn Bushemi of Illinois and a brother Tony Bushemi also of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark Bushemi, brother Clarence Bushemi and sisters Violet Olson and Carol Zellers. Funeral services will be private. Entombment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso is in charge of arrangements.
