Harold Sullivan Obituary

Harold Paul Sulivan, 87, passed away in Ft Myers, FL on Friday, November 17, 2023.  He was born May 26, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Harold Paul and Viola Rose (Kilboy) Sullivan. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, son Timothy, brothers James, Dennis and Robert and his sister Shelia.

He is survived by his children, Brian (Chrystaline) Sullivan of Atlanta, GA, Mary Pat (Patrick) Halpin of Villa Hills, KY, Maureen (Dave) Zachary of Hebron, KY and Mike (Sabina) Sullivan of Lewisville, NC, and his grandchildren, Jack, Ace and Vega Sullivan, Noah and Ian Halpin, Ty, Race and Finn Zachary, and Cooper and Christine Sullivan.  His sisters Maureen Koselke of Highland, IN, Cecile Jagodzinski of Naperville, IL, Patty (Len) Stocker of New Lenox, IL and brother Mike (Jill) Sullivan of Lisle, IL.  He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous friends.

Harold was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, Chicago, IL and DePaul University.  He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956-1958 – stationed in South Korea as part of the Korean Defense.  He earned his CPA license and was the owner of Harold P Sullivan, CPA in Portage, IN for over 25 years. 

He served on numerous boards and was involved in many organizations including First National Bank in Valparaiso, the Portage Rotary Club, Portage Chamber of Commerce, and Valparaiso Country Club.  He was a parishioner at St. Paul Church in Valparaiso.

Upon retiring to Florida, he continued to provide financial planning advice to seniors, and volunteered at the Military Museum of Southwest Florida. He was a member of Church of the Resurrection of our Lord and Whiskey Creek Country Club.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed both studying and playing the game.  He was happy to teach the game to his children and grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10 AM in the Queen of Apostles Chapel at St Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations to Mt. Carmel High School Scholarship Fund, 6410 South Dante Ave, Chicago, IL 60637.
