James Clifford Schott, 80 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was born February 4, 1941 in Gary, the son of Elmer and Mabel (Nabhan) Schott. Jim was the former co-owner of Town & Country Market. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing and being with his friends and family. Surviving is his children, Dan (Renee) Schott of Valparaiso, Carol (Mark) Rosperski of Valparaiso, Julie (Mike) Tarkane of Valparaiso, Laurie (Kevin) Layman of Englewood, FL, David Schott of Englewood, FL Christopher Schott of Hebron, Matt Schott of Valparaiso and Michelle (Neil) Wilgus of Tampa, FL, his longtime partner Juanita Koontz, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother Elmer (Donna) Schott of Nashville, IN and sister Mary (Marty) Brown of Portage. He was preceded in death by his wives Patricia Brooks Schott and Caroline Williams Schott, his parents and brothers, Bill Schott of Denver, NC and George Schott of Valparaiso. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
