James Paul Selby, Jr. 65 of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023.He was born July 27, 1957 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of James and Mildred Joan (Hibbs) Selby. James was a US Army Veteran and was the founder of Jimbo’s Quad Squad MX Track. Surviving is his wife, Lisa Marie (Berndt) Selby of Hobart, children, James P. (Elizabeth) Selby,III of Frankfort, Ann Marie Selby of Lake Station and Johnathon Ryan (Amanda) Selby of Portage and four grandchildren, Kenner Selby, Cadence Marie Palo, Madison Mary Palo and Emma Kathryn Palo. Also surviving are his siblings, Ricky Selby, Mike Selby, Paula Selby Sweat and Kari Selby Smith, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bruce Allen and Donald Lee Selby. James loved racing and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, 10 to 11 AM with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home.
