Jan (Janet Yeager) Litke
VALPARAISO, IN
Jan (Janet Yeager) Litke of Valparaiso, passed away the morning of Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She was born September 14, 1947 in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of Patricia Ann Yeager (Hall) and Robert Yeager.
Jan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She loved the home she made with her family, especially her gardens, where something was always in bloom—day or night—including many early morning and late night conversations.
Surviving Jan are her husband of 48 years Fred Litke, her children, daughter Nocha Minchuk Flick (Larry) of Indianapolis, son Adam Minchuk III of Fort Wayne, her foster son Kelvin Breland of Valparaiso and former daughter in law Melanie Litke of Bloomington. Also surviving Jan are her pride and joy grandchildren; Eva (Connor) Claflin, Ivan (Anna) Flick, Michael Litke Adams, of Valparaiso, Sebastian Litke and Mason Litke of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her son Travis Litke.
Jan had an irrepressible joy for life, lived for her travels near and far with Fred and was renown for being the last person to leave the dance floor at weddings and reunions.
A celebration of life will be held at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso Saturday, June 26th from 12-1:30PM with memorial service immediately following.
She will travel back along her country roads to West Virginia in July for a private gravesite service at her family plot on the mountain.
