John Lyle Sopcich, age 71, died of a broken heart April 7, 2023. He was born August 7, 1951 in Chicago, IL to parents John G. and Dorothy (Hotuetz) Sopcich. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 35 years, Renate M. Sopcich. He is survived by his children Brian and Lisa Sopcich; his sister, Patricia Sopcich and brother, Daniel Sopcich as well as many cousins. He worked at JMC Steel/Welded Tube in Illinois for more than 45 years. Graveside services will take place for John and his wife Renate at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 5th at Memorial Park Cemetery in Valparaiso.
