Karen Lee (Holtzman) Johnston

Karen Lee (Holtzman) Johnston, 72 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was born March 24, 1950 in Gary, the daughter of William and Margaret (Peggy) Anne (Burns) Holtzman. Karen retired from the Child Support Office, Clerk’s Office and the Auditor’ Office for the Porter County Government. On April 1, 1972 in Crown Point, she married Joseph Paul Johnston, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is her daughter Lee Anne (Robert) Johnston of Valparaiso, her son David Joseph (Shelby) Johnston of Portage and her special cat Juno. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Judy Anne Holtzman. Karen enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, 1to5 PM with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso.
