Kathleen Frances (Brown) Howard

Kathleen Frances Howard, 81, of Chesterton Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 10th, 2024.  She was born March 28th, 1942, in Valparaiso Indiana to Allen and Margaret (Wyland) Brown.  On August 4th, 1984, she married James R. Howard, who preceded her in death on December 29th, 2022.  Surviving children are Sheryl (Michael) Cannon, Sandra (Michael) Rogers, Dana Neuts, and Christopher (Michele) Howard.  Kathleen was preceded in death by one son Ralph LaBarr.  Surviving grandchildren Gabrielle (Jessica) VanDenburgh, Molly (Brandon Lortz) Cannon, Bee (Kyle Finnigan) Blozis, Seth Rogers, Alan Rogers, Emma Howard, Beth (Patrick) Fitzsimmons, and Ryan (Johanna) Blozis. She is also survived by brothers Allen, Ralph, David, and John Brown and sisters Marguerite and Susan.  Also Surviving are 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Kathleen worked for over 20 years as a secretary at Westville Correctional Center.  Along with many other things, she enjoyed playing Bunco, going to jazz concerts with her husband and spending time with friends and family.  A graveside service will be held for Kathleen and James on Friday, May 24th, 2024, at 10:00 am at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Rev. Cathy Allison Officiating.  Bartholomew Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrangements.
