Kris Tina Tomlinson

Kris Tina Tomlinson, 48 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020. She was born February 13, 1972 the daughter of Kenneth and Doris Jean (Jungels) Tomlinson. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University and a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University Northwest. She advocated for countless women and children through her work at the Caring Place, Midwest Center for Youth and Families, and Dockside Services, and was a bright light for Lilly Pharmaceuticals. She was a lover of art and nature, finding so much joy in her garden of plants and flowers, and in creating everything from painting to pottery to jewelry. She loved an adventure, and whether it was to Italy or Alaska or spontaneous escapades around the area or just at home, she dove in headfirst. We are forever grateful for her exuberance, her refusal to settle, her fierce heart. She was always a warrior, but never more in the past few years. She is survived by her fiance and love of her life, Jed Charles Stahl of Valparaiso, two grandchildren, her father Kenneth Tomlinson, brother Gerald Scott (Renee) Tomlinson of Hanna,  niece Haley Elizabeth Tomlinson, nephews Caleb Seth Tomlinson, Caden Ezra Tomlinson and Jacob Elijah Tomlinson, Uncle Larry Jungels, grandmother Dorothy Jean Jungels and special friends Michelle Shumaker, Kimberly Myers, Jennifer Dudrey, and special Aunt and friend Sharon Davis. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Tomlinson, Uncle Dave Jungels, Uncle Roger Jungels, and grandfather Frank Jungels. Visitation will be held Saturday August 15, 2020, 1:00-5:00 pm, with funeral services at 5:00 pm at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso, Pastor David Patterson officiating. Memorials can be made to the Caring Place, Ocean Conservancy, and Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
