Leroy Bogard

Leroy Bogard, 84 of Hobart, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023. He was born February 26, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of James and Ruth (Schaffatill) Bogard. Leroy was a US Army Veteran and a boilermaker at US Steel Gary Works. On March 19, 1976 he married Karen Elaine Prickett, who preceded him in death February 18, 2020. Surviving are his children, Leroy (Sheila) Bogard, Jr., Roger (Brenda) Bogard, Barbara (Bud) Betchie, Kathy (Charles) Anderson, Sophie (Mike) Roeske, Donny (Kristi) Bogard, Laura (Mark) Sizemore and James (Cheryl) Richards, 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Leroy enjoyed cutting grass, farming, playing cards with family and friends and golf. Visitation will be held Monday, June 5, 2023, 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Services at 1:00 PM, with Allan Sassman officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial Donations may be made to the South Haven American Legion Post 502.
