Marcella C (Bakota) Hinkel

Marcella C Hinkel passed away peacefully on Sunday January 23, 2022 at her home. She was born on December 20th,  1936 in East Chicago, IN to Louis and Bernice (Harbut) Bakota who both precede her in death. On April 27th 1957 she married Richard Hinkel who also preceded her in death. Marcella is survived by 3 of her children Jeffery (Marlene) Hinkel of Chesterton, Beth (John) Svetich of Valparaiso, Claud (Barb Robinson) Hinkel of Hebron, and Daughter in law Diane Hinkel of Florida. Marcella’s 2nd son and the husband of Diane precedes her in death. She is also survived by her sister Dolores “Dolly” McCabe of Valparaiso, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Marcella worked for many years as an accountant and loved her family dearly. Visitation will be Thursday 1-27-2022 from 3:30pm- 7pm at Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday 1-28-2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with Fr. Mick presiding. Cremation will take place following the mass.
