Marguerita Nevada Rouse

Marguerita Nevada Rouse 93, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at home.  She was born November 21, 1927 in Beggs, Oklahoma to Ray Eugene and Minnie (Denton) St. Cyr.  Marguerita is survived by her sons  Robert David (Phyllis) Rouse of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Michael Rouse of Valparaiso and Terry (Teresa) Rouse of Valparaiso; her grandchildren James, Jeremy, Christian, Triston Rouse, Jimmy and Josh Hoyne and Cary Rouse; four great grandchildren; and her brother Donnie (Ginette) St. Cyr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-laws Beverly Rouse and Donna Rouse both of Beggs, Oklahoma.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dean Rouse, sons Fred and Duane, three sisters and three brothers. Marguerita was a cook at the Porter County jail for a number of years. She was a member of the Charles Pratt American Legion Post #94 Ladies Legion Auxiliary in Valparaiso where she was Past President and Treasurer for years.  Marguerita enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with family and cooking. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9th at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. in Valparaiso with Ladies Legion Auxiliary services at 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery in Valparaiso at 3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
