Marilyn F. (Kasten) Dodrill

Marilyn F. Dodrill, 88 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was born October 30, 1935 in Tefft, Indiana the daughter of Gary and Nettie Kasten. Marilyn was a teacher with the Union Twp. School system and retired from Union Center Elementary School. Marilyn was a member of the Eastern Star, Indiana Retired Teachers Association and was in the Civil Air Patrol. She married Roger Dodrill, Sr., who preceded her in death June 29, 2013. Surviving is her son Roger (Diane) Dodrill, Jr. of Valparaiso, daughter Carol (Keith) Blozis of Florida, 3 grandchildren, brother Damon R. Kasten and sister Shirley Claussen. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Garry Kasten and sister Gladys Shroyer. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling and fishing. Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, 10AM until 12:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be Monday at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to P.C. Special Olympics in reference to her granddaughter Kelsey.
