Marion Lee Osterhout 84, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at home. She was born July 29, 1939 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Kenneth and Ellen (Evans) Wonnacott. On January 4, 1958 she married Wendell A. Osterhout who passed away January 19, 2000. Marion is survived by her sons Timothy (Nancy) Osterhout and Jeffery (Tammy) Osterhout both of Valparaiso; nine grandchildren Jon, Steven, Danny, Wendy, Josh, Maggie, Adora, Tessa, and Chloe; seven great grandchildren Weston, Gavin, Adimae, William, Daniel Josephine and Juliana; her sister Beth Hancock and brother David Wonnacott both of Phoenix, Arizona and her daughter-in-law Jackie of Gastonia, North Carolina. In addition to her husband, Marion was preceded in death by her son Michael, her sister Linda Horton and stepfather Carlyle Hancock. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso and Women of the Moose Lodge #1357. She retired from food service at Valparaiso High School after working there for many years. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 4th at St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso. Rev. Roque Meraz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM on Monday at the church, until the time of her funeral mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center at St. Paul Catholic Church, the St. Agnes Scholarship Fund or the VNA Christmas for the Elderly.
