Miriam Hagan (nee Janssen), 77 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020. She was born January 3, 1943 in Gary to Alois and Elizabeth (Youhay) Janssen. Miriam is survived by her children Kelly (Ron) Wisniewski of Portage, Ken (Laura) Hagan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tim (Amy) Hagan of Burns Harbor, her five grandchildren Matthew (Nancy) Arndt, Tara (Joe) Watkins, Adam Arndt, Claire Hagan and Ryan Hagan, four great grandchildren, and her brother Dr. Guy H. (Carol) Janssen of Crown Point. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Phyllis Mahan. Miriam worked in the banking industry as a data entry specialist for many years before retiring. As per her request, there is no visitation or funeral services for Miriam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Porter County VNA Hospice at 501 Marquette St. Valparaiso, IN 46383 or the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso is in charge of arrangements.
