Nicholas J. Babich, Jr.

Nicholas J. Babich, Jr., 81 of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born June 10, 1942 in Gary, Indiana; the son of Nicholas J. and Frances (Kostron) Babich, Sr. Nick was a US Army Veteran and served in the 1st Infantry in Vietnam. On December 8, 1973 in Merrillville, he married Elizabeth “Liz” Dunda, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is his son Kevin Babich. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Janet Kovack. Nick enjoyed working, spending time with his son and teaching him how to hustle. Visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, 10am to 1pm at Bartholomew Funeral Home. 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, Fr. Michal Bucko officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Special thanks to staff, nurses and aids at Southern Hospice Care for their care and dedication during Nick’s last year.
