Philip Benedict Yankauskas, 57 of Lawrence, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 27, 1963 in Valparaiso and raised in Hebron IN. Preceding him in death are his parents, Benedict J. Yankauskas Jr, and Virginia (Michal) Yankauskas, and one brother Phillip M. Yankauskas.
Philip was self employed with P&J Repairs. His passions were farming, gardening, automotive & tractor repairing, tending to the farm animals on the family farm, and home refurbishing. He was a long time member of the Boone Boosters 4H Club and had participated in many of the Porter County Fairs. He was in tune with and understood the earth and life, always taking a little bit of something and growing it into full bloom. He had the ability to fix anything automotive just by 'listening' to it, and proudly owned a toolbox of many unique talents. He was considered a “multi-faceted professional technician”. All who knew him know that he walked and spoke softly, and had a very big heart. Above all, his greatest passion in recent years was spending time with his family and 7 grandchildren, in Pure Michigan.
He is survived by his loving family, Tina Yankauskas, his son, Philip Jr. (Lindsey) Yankauskas of Lawrence, MI, with grandchildren Hanna, Connor, Abel, Philip III, and Lucas Yankauskas. Also, his daughter Stephanie (Collin) Rosenbaum of Colorado Springs, CO with grandchildren Benanaiah and Adler Rosenbaum. Also surviving are Philip's eleven brothers, one sister, and many nieces and nephews in the Yankauskas family.
