Ronald K. Rust

Ronald K. Rust passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the age of 87 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born on July 29, 1936 in Hammond, Indiana to Robert and Edythe (Johnson) Rust. On February 10, 1957 Ron married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Singleton who preceded him in death. Also proceeding him in death was his parents, Robert & Edythe, sister Donna Heinold and grandsons Michael J. Balch and Adam Rust. Surviving Ronald are his children Kevin (Julie) Rust of Westville, Jodi Damiamo of North Judson, Kerry (Vikki) of North Judson, Larry (Patty) of LaCrosse as well as brother, Jack Rust of Kouts. Ronald left behind his grandchildren, Aaron (Amber) Rust, Linzie (Nick) Poort, Kelli Martinez, Stephanie (Mark) Dyonzak, Beth (Adam) Rust, Branden (Stefanie) Rust, Kory (Michelle) Bender, Kerry (Lyndsey) Rust along with 22 great-grandchildren. Ronald worked as a millwright at McGill Manufacturing for 44 years before retiring and moving to Mesa, Arizona where he and Nancy enjoyed their grapefruit and orange trees and warm weather. He enjoyed many hobbies and was a lifelong ham radio enthusiast and enjoyed going to breakfast with other club members. Ronald was a member of the Masonic Lodge in North Judson and a member of the La Crosse United Methodist church. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 1p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso with private family graveside services to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso.
